London ‘bomb’ scare: A Holborn road was closed over ‘suspect package’
Red Lion Street was closed after a suspicious package sparked fears of a suspected bomb in the capital today.
A “suspect package” sparked nearby offices to be evacuated and the street closed off, Huffington Post’s George Bowden tweeted.
Mr Bowden and his colleagues tweeted about the incident, warning people should "avoid the area".
Stephanie Harris said: "Can see at least three police cars. The restaurant next to our office is being evacuated as well."
Ms Harris later confirmed the cordon had been lifted and a "policeman said it was a false alarm".
