Do YOU have a criminal name? Police reveal those most likely to commit offences
THE NAMES of men most likely to commit crime have been revealed by Yorkshire Police.
Police are 'powerless' against gun crime says former Met officer
And, according to the data, the bloke most likely to commit a felony will be called Daniel. Between January 1 2016 and December 11 2018 more than 6,500 crimes were carried out by criminals with one of the top 10 names. All of the names are male, reflecting the disproportionate amount of crimes committed by men, the Yorkshire Post reports.
According to the list provided following a Freedom of Information request, people with the name Daniel were charged 948 times in the past three years - 177 times more than the second placed name Michael.
Third place in the felon’s list of shame went to David, James was in fourth and Paul in fifth.
Lee, Andrew, Christopher, Mark and John make up the remaining names which all feature more than 500 times on the list of criminals either charged, or given a summons or postal requisition since 2016.
Daniel Lawson, 40, of Thorngumbald, East Riding, is one of the criminals who contributed to the list.
In May 2018 he pleaded guilty to harassment after extorting thousands of pounds from his elderly victim.
Mr Lawson was said to have “put the fear of God” into his victim, aged 73, and was given a four-month sentence suspended for two years.
A second Daniel, Daniel Ziemski of Beech Close, west Hull, was jailed for three years and banned from driving for four and a half years after leading police on a dangerous 100mph pursuit.
The 30-year-old tried to nudge the police car chasing him off the road in a black Peugeot which he had stolen from a 95-year-old man a few hours earlier, a court heard.
Mr Ziemski admitted burglary, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, dangerous driving, failing to provide a sample for analysis, and aggravated vehicle damage (damage to the stolen car).
One of Hull’s most prolific burglars, Michael Hamilton, 56, would have contributed to a rise in the rankings for the name ‘Michael’.
He was jailed for four years and six months after targeting properties of three Roman Catholic, two Anglican and a Methodist clergymen between August 4 and September 3 2018.
At the time, the court heart that Hamilton had a staggering 46 previous burglary convictions.
