Should you need to pick up some last minute essentials on Boxing Day you may be wondering which stores are open. For many Boxing day is a time to visit the sales and grab a bargain. But which supermarkets are open on December 26?
Tesco
Tesco Extra stores and superstores in the UK will shorten their hours on Boxing Day, with most opening between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
In Northern Ireland Tesco Extras and superstores will be open between 10am and 6pm.
Tesco Express branches will likely have opening times of 8am to 10pm, and most Metro stores will be closed.

England, Wales & Scotland Extras, Superstores and Metro stores open from 9am to 6pm.
Northern Ireland Extras & Superstores and Metro stores open from 10am to 6pm.
All Tesco petrol stations will be open from 8am to 7pm.
Lidl
On Boxing Day Lidl stores across the UK will be closed, with the exception of most stores within the M25 which will be open between 10am to 6pm.

Aldi’s stores will be closed on Boxing Day, and will reopen on Thursday, December 27 at 8am.
They will remain open on December 27 until 10pm.
