'Complete CAPITULATION!' Britons RAGE against Theresa May's Brexit 'horror' deal
LONDONERS have spoken out against Theresa May's Brexit deal claiming it does not deliver what people who voted to leave the EU in 2016 expected from the negotiations, according to a report from Euronews.
Brexit: Londoners SPEAK OUT on May's withdrawal agreement
Euronews asked people on the streets of London to have their say on Theresa May's Brexit withdrawal agreement with the EU. Some of them labelled it a "complete capitulation" and a "horror story". While others supported the Prime Minister's effort in reaching a deal.
One man said: “It’s almost a complete capitulation. I don’t think that people in this county who voted leave expected that kind of deal.
“It’s very unfortunate.”
And another: “It’s a horror story. We could have done better but I don’t think we’re going to get much out it now.
“So we might as well take what she has and move on.”
But some were prepared to defend the Prime Minister against Brexiteeer's in her Party who criticised the deal.
One woman said: “I think she’s done very well considering the hand she’s been given and the ride she’s been getting from her party.”
I regret to say that following the Cabinet meeting yesterday on the Brexit deal I must resign
The agreement sparked the resignation of former Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab on Thursday.
Brexiteers warned the agreement reached by Theresa May could risk the UK remaining shackled to the EU customs union indefinitely preventing the country to strike new trade deals with the rest of the world.
Dominic Raab claimed he could not support the Prime Minister's deal on the basis it did not fulfil their party's manifesto promises.
In his resignation letter to Theresa May, Mr Raab wrote: “It has been an honour to serve in your government as Justice Minister, Housing Minister and Brexit Secretary.
Brexit extension will be granted on ONE condition says MEP
"I regret to say that following the Cabinet meeting yesterday on the Brexit deal I must resign."
Dominic Raab said Mrs May's Brexit plan threatened the integrity of the UK and he could not support an indefinite backstop arrangement where the EU held a veto over Britain's ability to exit.
