PRINCESS Eugenie’s upcoming Royal Wedding preparations are underway with Windsor police officers conducting on-the-spot checks of the homeless in the royal borough.

Princess Eugenie and long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank are due to tie the knot on Friday October 12 at St George’s Chapel.
Officers were seen carrying out spot checks in town on Wednesday, searching and questioning rough sleepers ahead of Eugenie's wedding, which will include a carriage procession as royal fans are expected to line the streets.
Homeless people living on Windsor’s streets will be offered temporary shelter for the event, echoing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in May, which saw their possessions put into temporary storage on the day.
The security crackdown on Windsor town centre also saw police officers searching bins located in popular public areas.
Security in the town is being ramped up ahead of the couple’s big day, which will see 800 friends and family attend the service at St George’s Chapel, where Meghan and Harry tied the knot five months earlier.
Guests are expected to include George and Amal Clooney and popstar Robbie Williams. Mr Brooksbank also works for Mr Clooney’s tequila brand, Casamigos.
Thames Valley Police says people along the route will be searched and added homeless people will not be forcibly removed.
A statement on Thames Valley Police site read: "On the day, visitors may be stopped and checked by roads policing officers. If travelling by train, British Transport Police will be patrolling stations and carriages. Once you arrive in Windsor there will be a screening and search process.
"There will also be Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead community wardens and ambassadors throughout the town centre. These are all part of our measures to keep people safe."
A spokesman for the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead said: “As per our normal support processes we have engaged with residents who are homeless across the borough and offered them support."
Eugenie will have her wedding broadcast by ITV, marking a break in tradition for royal weddings which are usually broadcast by the BBC.
The BBC broadcast the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William’s wedding in April 2011, and Prince Harry and Meghan's nuptials in May this year.
