Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirm plans for a family
Kensington Palace requested to Air Canada staff that no photos of Meghan, 37, were taken as she travelled to her former home, the website reports.
The ex-actress still has good friends in the Canadian city following her time there filming Suits.
It is not known if Prince Harry will join her in Canada.
The Royal couple's relationship has gone from strength to strength since marrying on May 19. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to travel to Australia and New Zealand for a royal tour later in the year.
But the Royal Family has been embroiled in an ongoing feud with dad Thomas Markle and other members of Meghan's family making a number of claims to the media.
It is rumoured Meghan will also travel to Los Angeles later in the summer.
Kensington Palace has been contacted for comment.
The trip comes as The Duchess of Sussex’s uncle claimed he could have walked his niece down the aisle on her wedding day.
Thomas hit out at the Royal Family over the weekend, comparing them to a cult.
The outspoken American said: “They are either like Scientologists or the Stepford family.
“If they hear anybody say anything they just lock the doors. They need to speak up!”
It was the latest in a series of blasts by the dad who did not attend the royal wedding due to health issues.
Thomas' brother Michael Markle, an ex-US diplomat, said he was surprised to not receive an invitation to the royal wedding.
Michael said: “I thought I would. But anyhow, I didn’t hear from her.
When asked if he would have walked her down the aisle, he added: “I would have it was coordinated. Yes, I would have done it.”
He added that he would have replaced Meghan’s dad but Prince Charles stepped in to fulfill the duty.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend friend’s wedding together
Harry and Meghan were reported to be heading to the US this summer to help build ties between America and Britain.
Details are yet to be finalised.
However, at the time Canadian sources said: “The Canadian Foreign Office has heard about the tour and would love to have them stop there.
“This may very well become a North American tour.”
Last week, Thomas Markle, 74, branded the Royal Family "cult-like" in a controversial outburst.
Meghan's father compared the Windsors to Scientologists and said he believed they should be more open.
He told The Sun: "If they hear anybody say anything they just lock the doors. They need to speak up.
"They are cult-like - like Scientology - because they are secretive. Maybe they have a secret handshake too."
