Simon Cowell opens up about 'nine months of hell' before mother Julie's tragic death
MUSIC mogul Simon Cowell was distraught after he lost his mother Julie Brett two weeks ago, but he has revealed that she had been ill for a long time as he opened up for the first time since her death.

The 55-year-old talent judge said he went through "nine months of hell" as he watched his beloved mother Julie die.
"She had been ill for a very long time," he said. "It really happened last year and it was tough period. I did not want to burden anyone else with my problem. That’s why I never talked about it."
Simon openly wept as he spoke backstage at the auditions for the X Factor at Wembley Arena, telling the Sun: "In a way that was the hardest part because it was always on my mind.
"But look, I experienced it with my dad and the only thing I can say is that I have incredible memories."

After calling off the first round of X Factor auditions, Simon bravely returned to critiquing the fame-hungry hopefuls just two days after the tragic news.
"It sounds corny but its exactly what she wanted me to do because she loved what I did," Simon explained.
The father-of-one was "devastated" with grief and was famously close with the his former showgirl mother; often whisking her away on lavish holidays and showering her with luxurious gifts.
"Everyone who met her just loved her," he added.

Simon also commented on the recent news that One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson is going to be a father for the first time.
The 23-year-old singer is expecting a baby with Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth, 23, next year.
"He didn't kill anyone he got someone pregnant it happens every day all over the world," Simon said.
"It is plus not a negative."
