On her arm she carried a large tan leather handbag and she ensured that her other arm was free to wave at photographers as she made her way to her vehicle.
Katherine appeared to have filmed a pre-recorded interview for the ITV breakfast show as she didn't feature on today's episode.
She was clearly excited about being back in the studios and tweeted to showbiz correspondent Ross King: "I hear a rumour you're in the ITV building @TheRossKing ?? I want to see you! Just filming Lorraine xx"
Katherine is happily married to US actor and director Andrew Levitas
Despite being happily married to actor and director Andrew Levitas now, Katherine recently revealed that when she split from her fiance Gethin Jones in December 2011, it was his decision.
Speaking in a new BBC documentary, she explained: "At the end of 2011, when Gethin and I broke up, the reality of it was that, about two weeks later, I had to go on a UK tour where every night I'm singing songs of heartbreak and every day just trying to find the energy to cope - let alone going on stage and understand his reason for doing it."
She added: "Meanwhile, everybody else is under the impression it was my decision, my ambition - I wanted to take over the world. It was so far from the truth."
