Ola Jordan suffers 'serious injury' during training for Channel 4's The Jump
STRICTLY Come Dancing star OLA Jordan's hopes of a sensational TV comeback has been dashed after she sustained a injury.
Ola Jordan has been forced to pull out of The Jump after suffering a serious injury
She is said to have suffered "serious" damage to her leg and hips yesterday while training for Channel 4's winter sports programme The Jump.
The 32-year-old reportedly fell on an indoor ski slope at The Snow Centre, in Hemel Hempstead and has subsequently been ruled out of the show and any group dances on Strictly.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It was a freak accident and nobody's fault. But she fell heavily and the injuries are very serious.
"She's gutted as she's only just signed and was looking forward to trying something different post-strictly."
Ola's husband James is by her beside as she recovers from her injuries
The TV Insider added: "The injuries could leave her unable to dance at the same level again. She's signalled her intentions to leave Strictly but these injuries mean she won't return in the long term. She's in a bad way."
Ola had been partnered TV wildlife expert Steve Backshall in the latest series of Strictly, before they were eliminated from the competition three weeks ago.
The Polish-born star's husband James Jordan – a former ballroom dancer who left Strictly last year – was at her bedside.
A spokesperson for Channel 4 confirmed the news, saying: "Unfortunately, due to injury, Ola is no longer able to take part."
Ola will not be taking part in the group dances for Strictly Come Dancing
Socialite Henry Conway, Sir Steve Redgrave and comedian Marcus Brigstocke are among the contestants who have previously been forced to pull out of the competition.
Television presenter and former glamour model Melinda Messenger withdrew herself from the last series as a result of concussion suffered on the bobsleigh track.
Other celebrities who are scheduled to appear in the next series of The Jump include Heather Mills, Sally Bercow and Mike Tindall.
