Soap star Mark Charnock remembers onscreen son Harry Whittaker
Soap star MARK CHARNOCK has paid tribute to the child actor who played his son in longrunning TV series EMMERDALE following his death at the age of three.
Harry Whitaker, who had Down's syndrome, passed away on 1 July (14) and TV bosses honoured his memory with a message which read, "For Harry, with love", at the end of an episode which aired on Thursday (10Jul14).
An Emmerdale spokesperson says, "Very sadly we can confirm Harry Whittaker's passing last Tuesday, 1 July.
"We will all miss him greatly and have offered our sincerest condolences to his family at this very sad time."
A cause of death has yet to be revealed, but Charnock has since taken to his Twitter.com account to remember Whitaker, who portrayed his onscreen son Leo Dingle from 2011.
He writes, "Our superhero. We were lucky to know you and hear your laugh. You lit up our lives, dearest, loveliest Harry".
