Can you spot the planets among the stars in these incredible pics?
ON Thursday morning, a rare astronomical event occurred in which five planets aligned.
An amateur photographer captured the phenomenon, which hasn’t been spotted since 2005, at 6.30AM at a nature reserve not far from his home in Dorset.
But can you spot the planets in the above photograph?
Martin Dolan, a 34-year old who is a train driver by profession, said that it was a difficult image to capture, due to the rarity of the event and how difficult it was to spot.
Mr Dolan said: "I love a challenge and I feel really accomplished because this was a difficult shot to get.
"We're right out in the sticks, which is actually quite handy for visibility. I'm also completely self-taught and I just tend to rely on YouTube tutorials.
“I have a basic understanding of the planets but because this planetary alignment was such a major event I was able to find a lot more information online.
"I also have an app on my phone called Star Walk that lets me pre-empt when the planets are about to break the horizon.
