Eclipse 2019 Singapore LIVE STREAM: Watch Blood Moon online - How to watch lunar eclipse
LUNAR fans in Singapore will not be able to see this month's eclipse from their windows. Here is how to live stream the event instead.
January blood moon signifies ‘cataclysmic’ event claims Pastor
The Moon becomes red as sunlight gets deflected through the Earth’s atmosphere. This is also known as reaction, when red light is bent from the sun like a lens into the space behind Earth. The light then goes onto the surface of the eclipsed moon.
How to watch the Blood Moon online
You can watch the eclipse live on TimeandDate.com as it happens.
NASA explained: “Getting a chance to see a total solar eclipse is rare. The moon’s shadow on Earth isn’t very big, so only a small portion of places on Earth will see it.
“You have to be on the sunny side of the planet when it happens. You also have to be in the path of the moon’s shadow.”
What is a Blood Moon?
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, Earth and the Moon line up perfectly.
When the Moon is fully in the Earth’s shadow, it turns red - which is where the nickname Blood Moon comes from.
A Blood Moon occurs during a lunar eclipse and is usually visible from almost all parts of the world.
Elsewhere in the UK, Stargazers can watch the Super Blood Wolf Moon on January 20 at 10.30pm GMT.
This will be when the Earth’s shadow will start to move over the lunar surface.
Then totality will take place at 5.12am GMT on January 21, when the sun, moon and Earth align together.
This causes the Earth’s shadow to cover the whole disk of the moon.
