Prince Harry and Meghan Markle urged to do 1 thing to help relationship with King

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been urged by Brits to publicly apologise to King Charles for their actions over the past few years. It was reported last week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who quit royal life in 2020, are considering issuing a public apology to Harry’s father for all the public criticisms of the Firm they have made over the last few years.

This comes after they reunited with the monarch at Highgrove House last month. A source told royal journalist Rob Shuter, writer of his Naughty But Nice Substack: "Everyone agrees trust has to be rebuilt. An apology doesn't have to be a surrender. It's an acknowledgement that this family feud went too far. Charles wants peace - but he also wants respect.”

The source continued: “This could be the first real step towards both. This isn't about Harry and Meghan admitting they were wrong about everything.

“It's about acknowledging that the past five years have caused enormous pain. The debate now is over what an apology should say, and, just as importantly, what it shouldn't."

Here at the Daily Express, we launched a poll asking the public whether they think Harry and Meghan should publicly apologise to King Charles.

The poll, which ran from 3pm on August 9 to 12pm on August 11, found that 2006 people thought the couple should apologise to the monarch.

Only 141 people said they shouldn’t, and 27 people said they don’t know.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla on July 10 at Highgrove.

While Harry has seen his father on occasion over the last few years, it was the first time the King had seen Meghan, Archie and Lilibet since 2022.

The meeting was kept top secret, and it is still unknown what was discussed. No photographs from the private family moment, which is believed to have lasted just over an hour, have been shared.
