Royal Family: The royal invite Harry 'would love' as Charles 'needs to do 1 thing'

Ahead of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, Queen Elizabeth II instructed her staff to ignore requests from the couple to borrow Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara for practice, a new biography has claimed.

According to royal biographer Robert Hardman, the Queen sided with her personal dresser, Angela Kelly, who argued the tiara was too precious to be treated as a trial accessory.

In an excerpt from his new book Elizabeth II, being serialised in the Daily Mail, Robert Hardman wrote: “The mood turned sour nearer the wedding when the couple rang the palace to ask the Queen’s dresser and curator, Angela Kelly, to send over the tiara. Meghan wished to practise putting it on.”

He added: “As the monarch told one of them [the Royal Household staff]: ‘It’s not a toy.’ She even recalled that, ahead of the 2011 royal wedding, Catherine Middleton’s hairdresser had practised using a plastic tiara from the accessory chain, Claire’s.

“Why could Meghan and her hairdresser not do the same? She told Kelly to ignore the phone calls.”

Prince Edward has become the first member of the Royal Family to visit his brother Andrew reportedly holding a private conversation about his delayed move to a new home on the Sandringham estate.

Andrew, who is expected to relocate to Marsh Farm after leaving Royal Lodge earlier this year, is said to have been reluctant to complete the move, despite pressure for him to settle in before Easter.

A friend told the Sun: "Prince Edward was the first and only member of the Royal Family to visit.

“Andrew has been ignored by everyone since he left Royal Lodge, including his daughters and ex-wife who have stayed away.

“Edward has already publicly made his feelings clear when he expressed concern for the victims.

“Edward was meant to be staying at Wood Farm as he regularly books it for Easter, but his brother was there.

“Andrew has been dragging his heels. He could have moved by now, but has been reluctant. Edward has had a quiet word with his brother."

Prince Philip was reportedly 'extremely upset' over a scene in season one of Netflix’s The Crown that suggested he was responsible for his sister Princess Cecilie’s death.

Speaking on the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential royal author Hugo Vickers told host Jo Elvin: "They tried to blame Prince Philip for the death of his own sister.

"They cooked up a scene at Gordonstoun, where a young Philip punches another boy. As a result, his half-term gets cancelled and his sister flies to Darmstadt, Germany."

He added: 'She is killed in a plane crash and Philip goes to the funeral. There, his father says to him: "I am burying my favourite child because of you."

The show depicted a school fight at Gordonstoun leading to his sister boarding a fatal flight, but in reality, no such altercation occurred and he had no role in her tragic accident, the author said.

"In reality, there was no punch-up at Gordonstoun. He would never have gone to Darmstadt. Philip's father actually came to Britain to take him home after the crash.

"I knew Prince Philip was extremely upset by it. Luckily, I went on the Today Show, Radio 4, and told the true story. He was listening, and felt to some extent that it had been put right.

"But he did go to his lawyers about it."

Posting on his Instagram account, former royal butler Grant Harrold revealed late Queen Elizabeth's Good Friday meal - "hake with perfectly rectangular chips (no batter overload!)"

He also said she'd have some hot cross buns with afternoon tea.

King Charles will reportedly not be issuing an Easter message this year.

Buckingham Palace confirmed on Thursday that the King will not release an Easter message this year, GB News reports. The news outlet understands the Easter message is not something the Palace releases every year, unlike its annual Christmas speech.

While Queen Elizabeth II only ever gave one formal Easter message to the nation during her 70-year reign.

On Thursday, King Charles and Queen Camilla took part in the annual Maundy service in north Wales.

US President Donald Trump has criticised Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer over his handling of the Iran war.

When asked about King Charles, Trump told The Telegraph: “I like him. I always liked him as a prince. He’s a good man, a great representative for your country.”

He added: “I think he would have taken a very different stand [on the war in Iran] but he doesn’t do that. I mean, he’s a great gentleman.”

The comments come just after Buckingham Palace announced the King and Queen Consort’s upcoming US state visit, which Trump praised as a “momentous occasion."

President Trump said King Charles “had nothing to do with” the tensions between the United States and the United Kingdom over the war in Iran.

A second commemorative plaque linked Andrew is set to be removed in Inverness. The plaque, located outside a café on Church Street, makes reference to the royal’s role in reopening Dunbar’s Hospital after its restoration in 1987.

The restoration was done by the National Trust for Scotland, which has now confirmed to GB News that it intends to take the plaque down.

A National Trust for Scotland spokesperson told the news outlet: "We are taking steps to remove the plaque."

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was targeted by protesters at his new home in Norfolk, in what’s been described as a major security breach.

Andrew is temporarily staying at Wood Farm until renovations for his new home, Marsh Farm, are complete. He has been pictured visiting his new home to monitor progress.

But on Thursday, a group of protesters reportedly climbed Marsh Farm’s fence before being confronted by security.

Meghan Markle has shared a new video of Prince Archie skiing with his dad, Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex took to her official Instagram account to post a rare clip of their family outing on a snow-covered slope.

The six-year-old can be seen wearing a dark ski-suit while skiing behind his father. Meghan wrote: “My boys. Quick learner, Archie! So proud [heart emoji].”

Royal fans loved the new video and took to social media to express their views.
