Seven times King Charles has seen Prince Harry since quitting Royal Family
The King has been estranged from his youngest son for six years.
King Charles and Prince Harry have famously been estranged for over half a decade now, following the Duke of Sussex's bombshell decision to walk away from his family and his role as a senior working royal, along with his wife, Meghan Markle.
The pair sent shockwaves around the world in January 2020 when they issued an explosive statement on their future plans. At the time, they intended to split their lives between the UK and the US, but plans quickly changed after the Sandringham Summit, when it was made clear that the pair couldn't be half in and half out.
In the years that have followed, the father and son duo have only seen one another seven times. And, with reports that Harry is hoping for an invitation to bring his young family to see the King at the Sandringham Estate this summer, that number could soon rise.
The Daily Express has compiled the full list of every time the King and his younger son have reunited since Harry's explosive decision to quit royal life six years ago.
At Prince Philip's funeral in 2021

In April 2021, Prince Harry returned to the UK alone for Prince Philip’s funeral, marking his first face-to-face encounter with the Royal Family since the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview. With Meghan unable to travel due to pregnancy, Harry joined his father and brother in the funeral procession.
Despite the palpable tension following his public criticisms, Harry was seen conversing briefly with William and Catherine outside St George’s Chapel afterwards.

As they made their way to the 2022 Invictus Games in the Netherlands, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a discreet stop in the UK to visit Queen Elizabeth II.
Their press office confirmed the couple held a private meeting with the monarch at Windsor Castle. During this unannounced stopover, Harry and Meghan are also reported to have met with Harry’s father, Prince Charles.
When he was asked about the meeting during the Games, Harry said of his grandmother: "She had plenty of messages for Team UK, which I've already passed on to most of them."

In June 2022, Harry and Meghan returned for Queen Elizabeth II's historic Platinum Jubilee, marking their first joint public appearance with the Royal Family since Megxit.
Their presence was carefully managed as they were excluded from the Buckingham Palace balcony and largely kept a low profile. Their most prominent moment was at the Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral, where they were distanced from then-Prince Charles and Prince William. They were also notably booed by the waiting crowds as they arrived for the service.

In September 2022, Harry and Meghan reunited with the Royal Family for Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral in London and her committal service in Windsor.
The couple also joined Prince William and Catherine for a Windsor walkabout to view floral tributes, a moment that has since been described as "difficult" despite appearances.
Throughout the funeral, Harry marched in processions alongside his father and brother, but was not allowed to wear a military uniform since he stepped back from his role as a senior royal.

Prince Harry arrived alone to attend King Charles and Queen Camilla's Coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023.
The day, which was also Prince Archie's 4th birthday, saw Harry sitting and speaking with his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, along with their husbands.
Immediately after the ceremony, Harry left the UK to get back to the US for Archie's birthday celebrations.
