The common British names 'going extinct' - including that of a beloved Royal Family member
The name of a very popular royal has dropped in popularity.

Over the years, popular baby names have continuously been changing, with some even beginning to go “extinct”. While many may think this only happens to older-sounding names, it appears that some names that were popular just a few years ago are now in decline, including some royal names.
Recently, BabyCenter produced a list to show what boys and girls names have dropped in popularity lately. And it turns out one name that belongs to one of the most popular royals has said he list.
In the list of girl names with the steepest decline from 2023 to 2024, Catherine has made the list in 11th place.

It is believed the name - which is the first name of the Princess of Wales - has dropped down 221 spaces on the list.
Other girl names also declining in popularity include Liv, Belle, and Katie.
It also turns out that Princess Catherine is not the only royal whose name is dropping in popularity.
According to BabyCenter, Anne ranked 15th among the names at risk of extinction.

When it comes to boy names, Louie came in 12th, Philip 15th, Albert 16th and Edward 20th.
While these names may be dropping in popularity, they could easily make a comeback in the years to come.
