Princess Charlotte reportedly spends "most of her time upside-down" after developing an interest in gymnastics, according to the Princess of Wales.

The young royal - now aged nine - is said to have fallen in love with the sport, with Kate sharing her daughter's interest during a visit back in 2022.

The passion sees Charlotte set aside from her siblings - Prince George, 10, and six-year-old Prince Louis - as the two don't share the interest with their sister.

In 2022, Charlotte joined her parents for a visit to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham - a visit they took without George and Louis.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Tim Lawler - who is the Chief Executive of Sports Aid - shared that Kate has revealed Charlotte's interest in gymnastics, saying: "She really, really loved seeing the swimming, but she's interested in the gymnastics."

He said: "While they are trying lots of different sports at home, when I asked her about sport she answered very easily and said 'It's gymnastics that I like'."

Kate is then reported to have joked: "Charlotte spends most of her time upside-down, doing handstands and cartwheels, as reported by the publication.

The proud mum also shared Charlotte's passion back in 2020 during a visit to meet a group of circus performers.

The 42-year-old said: "Charlotte is really into gymnastics, she's doing cartwheels, handstands, everything. It's so good for their basic skills of balance and coordination."

Prince William added: "And their flexibility, it's really good for their long-term health, isn't it? We went to watch the Cirque du Soleil recently, it was amazing."

It's thought that the nine-year-old has another much-loved hobby in the form of ballet.

It was previously reported that Charlotte had been taking weekly private ballet lessons at a dance school in south London. Kate has also reportedly taken her daughter to watch The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in central London.
