Royal author Robert Hardman, the author behind the recently released Charles III biography, provided further insights into the King's sentiments.
Hardman told GB News: "He's a huge fan of hers. He thinks she's a great asset."
He highlighted the significant impact her absence will have, considering her vital role within the royal family.
Princess Kate is anticipated to spend the upcoming week at The London Clinic for recovery before returning home.

However, Hardman suggested that King Charles is likely to advocate for an extended break from royal duties for Princess Kate in the coming months.
Princess Kate's recovery period is estimated to be two to three months, with her return to royal duties contingent upon medical advice.
Hardman emphasised the King's worry about Princess Kate's prolonged absence.

He said: "She's fit, she's young and she's out of action for three months. That's a cause for concern, not alarm.
"He'll definitely be taking the view 'for God's sake don't make her feel she's got to come back to duties any sooner than she feels she needs to.'"
