Sussexes ‘won’t abandon Netflix’ says commentator
Prince Harry reportedly said “really nasty things” about Camilla, the Queen Consort, according to a royal author.
Royal biographer Angela Levin suggested the Duke of Sussex was one of many who has misrepresented Camilla in the early days.
She said: “One was The Crown which was really cruel to her and the other was Prince Harry who had said some really nasty things about her too.”
Appearing on Friday’s episode of ITV’s Lorraine with stand-in host Christine Lampard after the release of her biography ‘Camilla, From Outcast to Future Queen Consort’, the author suggested: “a lot of people disliked, mainly Camilla because they loved Diana so much”.
Ms Levin said: “It obviously hasn't always been plain sailing, a lot of people disliked, mainly Camilla because they loved Diana so much. It was always going to be a difficult time.”
But if there was any discontent between the pair, it has clearly been put behind them.
Royal expert Neil Sean noted that while Harry and Camila are “distant” and have been since his wedding with Meghan Markle, they “were very close and enjoyed a fun, informal friendship in which he confided in her”.

Archie Harrison, 3 and Lilibet Diana, 1, are King Charles' grandchildren from his youngest son, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.
Despite not being in the UK like Charles' three other grandchildren, the two little ones are very much still "very much" included in the the newly-appointed King's family unit and, according to royal expert Marlene Koenig, he has "made that clear".
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Ms Koenig said: "What's the point of them being styled, even on a piece of paper, or a website, when they will have no role, whatsoever, in the Royal Family."

Queen Consort Camilla is to get rid of a centuries-old royal tradition and will not have any ladies-in-waiting.
Historically, a lady-in-waiting was a personal assistant for a noblewoman who was a companion, but nowadays it is more of an administrative role.
The source said: “The Queen Consort will do things a little differently. She currently has two private secretaries who do some of those traditional duties anyway.
“And she has quite a lot of good and decent friends around her whom she can call on, as and when is necessary, to support her. I suspect she’ll dip into her close circle of friends, maybe geographically.
“She has a lot of chums in London and Scotland, as well as in the country too. She thinks it’s more with the times.”

King Charles' investiture crown as Prince of Wales underwent a radical refit for his investiture ceremony according to a royal expert who interviewed the coronet's designer.
The crown was made with electro-magnetic plating which was revolutionary for the time and provided a modern twist to the historic occasion, but difficulting crafting a metal orb centre-piece reportedly resulted in a ping-pong ball being used instead.

Now, Meghan and Harry have been said to have ditched Sunshine Sachs in order to go it alone.
A source said: “This is a really big deal for Meghan. She takes the view that she doesn’t need to pay an outside firm a lot of money to do PR for her and Harry anymore.”
The publicity for their numerous ventures is reportedly being handled “in-house” at their charitable foundation, Archewell, by head of communications Christine Schirmer.
Queen Consort Camilla to axe centuries-old royal tradition to be 'more with the times’
Camilla, the Queen Consort, is set to end the centuries-old tradition of having ladies-in-waiting, in favour of a slimmed-down retinue.
The ladies-in-waiting managed public and personal correspondence and organised the royal diary to accompany the monarch on engagements, collecting flowers and arranging private family events, among other roles.
The roles were unpaid and holders were almost always picked from the upper echelons of the aristocracy.
One source told the MailOnline: “When she got married and set up her own office for the first time she got two brilliant private secretaries, Amanda Macmanus and Joy Camm.
“But they were very much ‘two for the price of one’. Not only did they arrange all her engagements and projects, but they also acted as ladies-in-waiting if needed, accompanying her on official duties, collecting bouquets of flowers and the like.
“No one stands on ceremony in her office, everyone mucks in. The feeling is that although things have changed dramatically in many respects, she won’t take on an official line-up of ladies-in-waiting.”
Prince William 'frustrated' after Prince Harry and Meghan given role 'he had his eye on
Prince William reportedly expressed "frustration" at efforts to make the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feel included in the Royal Family, according to royal commentator Katie Nicholl's new book.
Speaking on The Mail’s Palace Confidential, host Jo Elvin discussed the fresh revelations within the book: “There is an interesting insight on the potential jealousy on William’s part over roles for Meghan and Harry - what’s that all about?”
Mail on Sunday editor at large Charlotte Griffiths replied: “She gives a bit of an insight into how much fast-tracking went on to make Meghan and Harry feel special and including before the wedding.
“Including, making them very senior in the Commonwealth trust. Katie reports that this was a plum role that William quite fancied for himself.”
Meghan ‘either doesn’t know or doesn’t care’ about the damage she causes the royals
Jonathan Sacerdoti believes given the Sussexes’ tendency to make damaging claims, King Charles III is likely to wait until the release of their new Netflix series, and the publication of Harry’s eagerly awaited memoir, before making any decisions about possible titles for their children - and his grandchildren - Archie and Lilibet.
Mr Sacerdoti, a journalist who has featured on the BBC, Sky News and Fox News among other media outlets, was speaking in the wake of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on September 19, which saw the royals temporarily reunited at Westminster Abbey.
However, Meghan and Harry rapidly returned to California, where they now live, afterwards, in a stark illustration of the physical and metaphorical gap between them and Harry’s father, the UK’s new Monarch, since they stepped down as frontline royals in 2020.
Their decision was prompted, in part, by their resentment at perceived press intrusion, with Meghan telling Oprah Winfrey during last year’s explosive CBS interview she had even considered the idea of suicide as a result of the pressure she felt she was under.
The end of the Prince of Wales? Title sows division amid Kate and William’s Wales visit
Trystan Gruffyd from Pontypridd, Wales, listed a petition titled: “End ‘Prince of Wales’ title out of respect for Wales”, on Change.org.
He told Express.co.uk: “Simply, I think it undermines Wales and its status as a country. It undermines devolution, Wales’ national parliament that wasn’t even notified about the decision [to pass the title on].
“A lot of people have come to understand the symbolism and what this title might mean for Wales since the Queen passed away, and they now understand the power it still holds.”
Meghan Markle raged at Vanity Fair's cover of her when she began dating Prince Harry
Valentine Low, royal expert and author of ‘Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Crown’, wrote in an excerpt of his new book that Meghan was unhappy with her October 2017 Vanity Fair cover issue.
He said: “Sweet, yes? And she looked great, didn’t she? But Meghan hated it.
“And she was furious with Keleigh Thomas Morgan. ‘She was very unhappy with how that had been handled,’ said a source. ‘And she was looking to throw blame in every possible direction, despite it having been a positive piece’.”
The source continued: “She did not like the photographs. She thought the story was negative.
“She was upset that it was about Harry, not about her.”
'Duke and Duchess of Netflix!' Ex-Team Meghan presenter says Sussexes now 'reality stars'
TV presenter Cristo Foufas appeared on this week’s episode of the To Di For Daily podcast, during which its host Kinsey Schofield asked whether there is a way Meghan and Harry can return to the Royal Family.
Mr Foufas responded: “I think it’s a question of trust. It’s been reported that Prince William refused to meet them [Meghan and Harry] because of a worry — and I think it’s a valid worry — that any conversations they may have during their time together will end up in a podcast or in Harry’s latest memoir…
“So I’m not sure if there is a way back — certainly in the eyes of their family — because there is a worry that that’s going to end up being the next revelation that they’ll try to monetise. And let’s be clear, everything they now do is in the pursuit of monetising it — monetising everything."

Prince Harry showed his ‘paranoia’ turning down William’s offer to meet
Richard Eden spoke about the turbulent relationship between Prince Harry and his elder brother Prince William in the lead up to the Sussex's quitting their royal duties and moving to Montecito, California.
Richard Eden has claimed the behaviour of Prince Harry towards his brother following the release of an ITV documentary hosted by Tom Bradby provided a “real insight into the paranoia” affecting the Duke of Sussex.
Speaking on Palace Confidential, Mr Eden recounted the moment Prince William asked to meet up with his younger brother following comments made by Harry that the pair were on different paths, only to be told not to come if he had to tell too many people of his plan.

A source told him: “This is a really big deal for Meghan.
“She takes the view that she doesn’t need to pay an outside firm a lot of money to do PR for her and Harry any more.”
Another source with knowledge of the company’s relationship with the couple insisted: “When Sunshine Sachs began working with the Duke and Duchess, the plan was always for it to be temporary until a full-time internal team could be created.
“After they were hired, Sunshine Sachs worked alongside them to help the transition. All sides are on good terms and periodic advisory work continues.”
Harry and Meghan U-turn as they want Netflix to go 'softer' on Firm
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be trying to make their Netflix documentary series kinder to the royal family, according to insiders.
Harry and Meghan allegedly made the intervention after spending time with The Firm after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Netflix series, which had been expected to be released later this year, will now not appear until early 2023, according to reports.
Sources told Page Six the couple were keen to remove or soften much of what they have said about the King and Queen Consort and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
An insider said: “A lot of conversations are happening. I hear that Harry and Meghan want the series to be held until next year, they want to stall.
“I wonder if the show could even be dead in the water at this point, do Harry and Meghan just want to shelve this thing?”
A Netflix source added: “Netflix has been keen to have the show ready to stream for December.
“There’s a lot of pressure on [Netflix CEO] Ted Sarandos, who has the relationship with Harry and Meghan, to get this show finished.”
