PRINCESS Eugenie’s Royal Wedding to Jack Brooksbank will be live streamed by the Royal Family itself after the BBC snubbed the event, it was announced today.
Princess Eugenie: BBC right not to air wedding says expert
The Windsors are taking upon themselves to share with the world the special day of Eugenie and Jack, live streaming it on two of the family’s official YouTube channels.
The loved-up pair will tie the knot this Friday, October 12, in Windsor, at the same venue that hosted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Royal Wedding on May 19.
But, unlike the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Eugenie and Jack’s big day won’t be broadcasted by the BBC.
The national broadcaster turned down Prince Andrew’s request to show the ceremony amid fears there would not be enough interest in the ninth-in-line to the throne's special day.
ITV took up the task, with the wedding airing during a This Morning special with Eamonn Homes and Ruth Langsford.
And now millions of royal well-wishers around the world will be able to join the Windsors and the hundreds of high-profile guests gathered at St George’s Chapel by tuning in to the official YouTube channels for the Royal Family and Duke of York.
The official coverage of the event will begin at 10am and will show the entire ceremony.
The show is scheduled to last for three hours and will give the chance to those unable to head to Windsor to rejoice at the event to also spot A-listers.
Among them, there will be George and Amal Clooney, Harry’s former girlfriend Cressida Bonas, and actress and model Cara Delevingne.
Singer Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda will also attend, with their adorable daughter Theodora Rose confirmed as one of the bridesmaids.
And as well as seeing Princess Eugenie walk down the aisle and exchange vows with Jack, those who tune in on the two channels will also enjoy a live performance in the chapel by Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The live streaming will also follow the newly married couple leaving the grounds of Windsor Castle by horse and carriage to carry out a wedding procession around the streets of the royal borough.
Princess Eugenie has been taking a contemporary approach to her wedding, with her sister Beatrice describing her as a “very modern bride” in an interview given to British Vogue in September.
