Labour MPs’ plot REVEALED: Corbyn faces humiliation as rebels plan NEW political party
LABOUR MPs frustrated at Jeremy Corbyn’s bumbling leadership are preparing to create a new party after next month’s election, it has been revealed.
Jeremy Corbyn is facing the threat of a Labour rebellion
The People’s Labour Party will be created by rebel MPs if Jeremy Corbyn does not step down as leader following the expected election defeat.
Frank Field, who has been MP since 1979, told Politico other party members were prepared to go to these extraordinary lengths to wrest control from the embattled leader.
He said: “We’ve got to actually remake the Labour party.
“Up till now, the parliamentary Labour Party has been too frightened to. After the election, this is going to be the big test: can we actually form a People’s Labour Party?
“We can only do that if we get a majority of like-minded Labour MPs back in parliament.”

He said he would be prepared to “go to the courts” to get funding available for opposition parties and have the group’s new leader recognised over Mr Corbyn.
Mr Field, who is also the chair of the parliament’s work and pensions committee, continued: “Then we must get the short money. If it’s not surrendered, and we have a majority in the parliamentary Labour Party, we should go to the courts to get it, and get the Speaker to accept that our candidate is the leader of the opposition.”
Jeremy Corbyn may be ousted if he loses the General Election
It comes after it was revealed some Labour MPs are considering approaching a think tank founded by controversial former Prime Minister Tony Blair for assistance in organising a new movement.
They plan to then form a collective of ‘progressives’ who will sit on the back benches, returning to Labour once Mr Corbyn finally resigns.

Before making this bold move, however, they are rumoured to be considering an approach to Mr Blair - albeit under a blanket of absolute secrecy.
One former Labour donor hopes the proposed deal with Mr Blair’s Institute for Global Change think tank will help the rebels coordinate and develop policies.
Frank Fields MP revealed the plot to oust Jeremy Corbyn
Asking to remain anonymous, he warned Mr Blair himself should be kept from the limelight due to his controversial legacy.
He said: “The Institute is needed. The thinking behind it is needed. But is Blair needed?
“If he wanted to do it he would put somebody in as a front person and influence from behind. He has got to stand aloof from it.”
