Get well soon Larry! Downing Street cat treated by vet after being spotted limping
LARRY the Number 10 cat has been treated by a vet after he was spotted limping, a Downing Street spokesman said.
The Downing Street cat is expected to make a full recovery
The Prime Minister’s chief mouser is expected to make a full recovery, but the official was unable to say whether Larry’s injured front paw was the result of a scrap with Palmerston the Foreign Office cat.
MPs heard the two top cats in Whitehall have now ceased hostilities after a “fracas” since Theresa May and Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson took to their new offices.
Commons Leader David Lidington used his business statement to tell the House: “I hope that they have now established a modus vivendi.”
Donations from Number 10 staff covered the cost of treatment for the brown and white tabby, who stayed on after David Cameron left.
Earlier this month the former Prime Minster expressed his sadness at not being able to take Larry with him as his time in office came to an end.
It came after rumours he was not a fan of the cat and made him sleep downstairs in the office rather than in the PM's flat.

Responding to the final questions he will ever face in the House from Jeremy Corbyn, Mr Cameron said: “It gives me the opportunity to put a rumour to rest, even more serious than the Strictly Come Dancing one.
“The rumour that somehow I don’t love Larry, I do, and I have photographic evidence to prove it."

At this point he held up a photograph of himself with the cat to cheers from the whole House.
He continued: “Sadly I can’t take him with me, he belongs to the house.
“The staff love him very much as do I.”
