Nick Robinson: Tumour operation was a 'complete success'
BBC political editor Nick Robinson has said an operation to remove a tumour from his lung was a “complete success”
Nick Robinson underwent treatment for lung cancer
Robinson, who announced in February he was undergoing treatment for lung cancer, added “normal service will be resumed as soon as possible”.
Writing in a blog on the BBC’s website, the 51-year-old thanked staff at the Royal Brompton and Royal Free Hospitals for looking after him as well as all those who had sent get well messages.
I am now beginning a course of chemotherapy to try to stop the cancer daring to think of returning
He added: “I am now beginning a course of chemotherapy to try to stop the cancer daring to think of returning. I’m also working to restore the strength of my voice after the op.”
News of his illness last month sparked many get well messages, including from PM David Cameron.
Robinson, who is married with three children, also used the blog to give some advice to voters. He wrote: “It’s all about you. Not them.”
