Ian Murray is the Labour Party MP for Edinburgh South and also the Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland in Keir Starmer's Shadow Cabinet.
Murray was also Shadow Secretary of State under Jeremy Corbyn, and was Shadow Minister for Trade and Investment for four years under Ed Miliband. He has been an MP since 2010.
Murray was a fierce critic of Jeremy Corbyn, describing him as being "all over the place". Murray had nominated Owen Smith for the 2016 Labour Leadership election, which Corbyn ultimatley won.
