Labour mocked over two major blunders ahead of big GB Energy announcement

Keir Starmer is in Scotland this morning, to spend the day parading his flagship policy of setting up GB Energy.

The state-owned energy firm will be based in Scotland, with Labour setting up the day by revealing the company’s new logo last night.

While Labour claims the policy will lower Britons' energy bills, the party certainly kept costs low when coming up with its new logo.

Shortly after its reveal, it was discovered that rather than designing it bespoke, the party had actually purchased it from image website Alamy for the cupric cost of £35.00

They then changed the colour from green to blue, and inverted the image.

As a result of this cut-priced approach, Labour’s new logo is already being used by companies, including one called “We Think Advertising” and Indian firm “Chatur Lights”.

Responding, Tory HQ joked that Keir Starmer has gone to Scotland to announce a £35 logo.

They quipped: “Is Labour’s cupboard really that bare?”

The SNP’s head of communications Fraser MacDonald blasted: “They’ve borrowed their policy agenda from the Tories, and their graphics from Clipart”.

Animator and illustrator Huw Churchman added: “We already knew they were too cheap to hire a proper graphic designer but this is objectively hilarious.”

This morning the party’s announcement saw a second blunder, as a member of the frontbench promoted GB Energy’s new website.

On Good Morning Britain, Peter Kyle told viewers to visit gbenergy.org.uk.

However the website is currently broken and shows those attempting to visit it either a blank page, or a holding page.
