Lord Adonis tweet backfires spectacularly as he tries to 'bring back Blair' -'Delusional!'
REMAINER Lord Adonis has been rebuffed for his clarion call to propel Tony Blair back into frontline politics, with one opponent hitting back saying, "it is never time for Blair".

The Labour peer took to Twitter to whip up support for Mr Blair after he weighed in on Sir Keir Starmer's election woes. He warned the Labour leader is "struggling to break through with the public" despite being "intelligent, capable, moderate-minded". In a series of tweets, Lord Adonis said "time for Blair" and "bring back Blair" as he sought to get others on board.
But his bid backfired miserably, with many criticising the former Labour leader's record.
One person argued that replacing Sir Keir with Mr Blair would make Boris Johnson so popular he would enjoy decades in Downing Street.
They wrote: "Blair would mean another 20 years for Johnson.
"It's a sad day when Blair is your best alternative to Starmer."
A second said it is "delusional" to hope for any sort of Blair return to Labour.
And yet a third said Mr Blair's time in Parliament had finished long ago.
They said: "Blair is past his sell-by date."
And one man responded to the peer's call by simply saying: "It's never time for Blair."

Others slapped down Lord Adonis' bid by attacking Mr Blair's record as prime minister.
One woman said he had proven himself to be "too much of a Tory" and ended up being "Margaret Thatcher's favourite achievement".
And another critic slammed the pro-Blair campaign, saying, "the damage he's caused to this country will take years to recover from - he infected everything from education to infrastructure and institutions".
One more said the only way Mr Blair could make a return to British politics was to start his own party, which they said there would be no appetite for among voters.

They said: "A new party? Again?"
Another even went as far as to suggest Labour had become "irrelevant" as an opposition under Sir Keir and said it would take more than Mr Blair to revive the party.
He said: "Sadly, Labour has become irrelevant in 2021 politics.
"The only way forward is to find a way of shifting the Tories back to the centre-right and replacing Johnson."
Mr Blair, who served as prime minister from 1997 to 2007, won three elections while at the helm of Labour.
Speaking this week he offered a dismal outlook for the party, saying: “The Labour party is now scratching its collective head and wondering why the replacement of an extremist with someone more moderate isn’t achieving the miracle renaissance.
"It is even asking whether Keir is the right leader.
“But the Labour Party won’t revive simply by a change of leader.
"It needs total deconstruction and reconstruction. Nothing less will do.”
