Baroness Sharples, 1923-2022 - Obituary
Pamela Sharples made important contributions to debates in the House of Lords for decades after personal tragedy.
Her first husband Richard Sharples, a former Major with the Welsh Guards and a Tory MP, was made Governor of Bermuda by his friend Edward Heath, who also awarded him a knighthood.
However, Sir Richard was assassinated outside the governor's mansion in 1973, and Lady Sharples returned to Britain with their four children.
In 1977 she married Patrick de Laszlo but he died from pancreatic cancer.
In 1983 she married Robert Swan.
She is survived by her two sons and two daughters.
