Black Labrador has its day after swimming with DOLPHINS
IT is said every dog has its day and black Labrador Tia’s latest seafaring experience was adoggie paddle with a difference.
Sea dog makes a splash with dolphins
Tia was enjoying her first outing on owner Sean Nicholson’s paddle board when the pair were surrounded by a pod of dolphins.
Mr Nicholson, 24, of Bellochantuy, north of Campbeltown, Argyll, thinks Tia sparked the curiosity of the dolphins, which are renowned for playing in the bow waves of boats.
It was quite relaxing because it is just you and these animals
Man and dog had just taken to the sea when the amazing encounter took place, with Mr Nicholson’s mother, Sally, on hand to capture it on camera.
Mr Nicholson, a joiner, said: “The dolphins started going round the board – they must have seen the dog.
"They were coming right up to the board, going under the board, and breaching.
There were about 12 or 15 dolphins swimming with Tia
“There must’ve been 12 or 15 of them and the dog was at the front looking. I had to pull her back to the middle a couple of times.
“We must have been paddling with them for about a mile. It was quite relaxing because it is just you and these animals.
“They are fascinated by you and you are fascinated by them.”
