Cruelty Crusade: Sick dog owner dumps puppy in its boarded up kennel
BRITAIN'S most callous dog owner was on the run last night after dumping a puppy in a boarded up kennel.
A puppy was found in a boarded up kennel
Shocked RSPCA investigators fear the heartless owner may have even left the poor animal to die on its own trapped inside the sealed wooden tomb.
The tied-up puppy was only four months old and underweight. It had not been dead for long when it was found in a country lane at the weekend.
Seasoned animal cruelty investigators have described the find as a "horrific discovery" and say the dog had been tied up with a chain and then intentionally boarded up inside the kennel with planks of wood.
Besides the dead puppy, there was also its blue lead, a bowl of rice and a water bowl as well as a sealed bottle of water and some sawdust.
The kennel's grisly contents were discovered in Fleetwood Road in Wesham, near Preston, on Sunday. Lancashire Police had been alerted by members of the public about the two-metre square kennel and its gruesome contents.
RSPCA inspector Sarah Hayland is investigating the case and says whoever left the puppy was cruel whether the animal was already dead or still alive.

She said today: "This is a horrific incident. We do not think the dog had been dead for very long when he was found inside the kennel.
This is a horrific incident
"We do not know where this dog came from or if he was alive or dead when he was so cruelly dumped inside that kennel.
"He had been tied up inside with a two-metre long metal chain. The door to the kennel had been intentionally boarded up with planks of wood when it was found in the middle of a country lane by a member of the public.
"It is just awful. He was underweight when we found him but at the moment we do not know how he died. It is harrowing to think what he might've gone through.
"We would ask that anyone who has any information about where he came from or how he got on to the lane in this state to contact us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should contact the RSPCA confidential hotline on 0300 123 8018.
