Meet the 'hollow' cat that looks like a POLO MINT
A TOP photographer is creating an internet sensation with his photograph of a "hollow cat".
This cat has the internet buzzing thanks to its unusual markings
Moggies have always been masters of camouflage but this incredible feline has taken cryptic markings to a new extreme.
Rather than go for the disruptive patterning of a tabby or stealthy nocturnal tones of an all-black cat, how about making your entire midriff look invisible?
A top animal photographer has been creating an internet sensation with his photograph of the so-called "Hollow Cat".
The way the Japanese cameraman has shot the animal walking across desert sands makes it look more like a Polo Mint than a pussy cat.
Social media is abuzz with the picture of the cat called Okaachan who gets his "see-through" appearance because of his unique ginger and black colouring.
The picture was taken by a Japanese photographer and shared on Twitter
3 optical illusions that exploit your visual system
Not only do the copper-toned markings on the cat's flanks blend perfectly with the desert sands, they also produce a striking optical illusion because of the shape and perspective provided by a black swoosh that stretches across its side, forming a hollow ring.
The picture was posted by a Japanese photographer with the Twitter handle @hanamomoact who is currently living in Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
He has already published a book on wildlife photography and is currently picturing desert animals.
