Six months on and he has been transformed into a loving, family pet.
So remarkable is the change due to expert care and owner Jamie-Lee Birch’s dedication that Dylan has been crowned PDSA Pet Survivor 2014.
Dylan got his award, presented in association with the Sunday Express, last week after a nationwide vote.

Lecturer Jamie, 23, of Gloucester, saw his story on Hounds First foster home’s Facebook page.
She said: “Dylan was very wary of humans, easily spooked.
"He had no muscles.
"Now he has a sparkle in his eyes, loves cuddles and his antics have us in stitches.”
