New Sky TV update means users can finally record more shows at once
SKY has announced its popular Sky Q box now allows users to record six shows and watch a seventh at the same time.
Sky has just released an update which means users can record more shows at once
Sky Q might be over a year old but Sky are continuing to update their flagship service.
Earlier this year the satellite TV company pushed out a major update which brought the long-rumoured voice search functionality, as well as a swathe of new personalisation options for your homepage.
This means Sky Q owners can now press and hold the dedicated voice button on the side of the bluetooth Sky Q touch remote – and simply say what they're looking for.
Now another update has just been released which allows Sky Q 2TB users to record six shows whilst watching a seventh.
Until now, Sky Q allowed five shows to be recorded at the same time.
To use the new feature users must update their box by heading to Settings > Setup > Preference > Maximum number of recordings.
From this menu the number can simply be changed from five to six.
Sky says that its new Q service is now in over one million homes.
And the firm has revealed it is working on a number of new features for its Sky Q hardware set for release later this year.
The UK broadcaster has teased that voice control and sports restart are in the pipeline for a future update.
And in 2018, Sky will launch Sky TV without the need for a satellite dish, bringing Sky to millions more homes.

After its initial launch last year Sky recently cut the price of its flagship Q service.
This latest deal means customers can experience Sky Q for just £22 per month.
The cheapest package for Sky Q originally started from £44 a month. That's a saving of 54.5 per cent.
This new £22 basic package includes a Sky Q 1TB box and access to over 270 channels including Sky Atlantic.
