The mega deal beats Sky's previously lowest price and will save iPad shoppers a huge £250

Today hundreds, if not thousands, of Apple fans, tech experts, and CEO Tim Cook are gathering in Cupertino, California for the 2024 WWDC event. Its annual developers conference is back and this year the biggest rumours are putting all eyes on potentially new iPad OS software and Siri 2.0 but the biggest catch of the day may be reserved for a much older device.

The WWDC event kicks off at 6pm BST and while its newest 2024 iPad range will be a hot topic, some Apple fans may want to take a look at its older device, as John Lewis knocks £250 off the 2022 iPad Air.

The 10.9-inch model (with the M1 processor) is reduced from its usual £849 price to a cheaper £599 making it one of the best times for tablet fans to upgrade. It even beats Sky Mobile's cost-splitting contract tech experts previously flagged as 'ludicrously affordable'.

Apple fans can find a mega price drop on the now older 2022 iPad Air - thanks to the launch of the 2024 iPad Pro.

Now £250 cheaper the 10.9-inch device can be bought for £599.

Sky Mobile's £10 per month deal recently caught the eye of The Express Tech Editor, Dave Snelling. The 48-month long contract offered a more affordable way for shoppers to get their hands on the 9th edition iPad than opt for paying a hefty amount upfront. Now, however, the John Lewis deal works out much better.

The £599 John Lewis deal is on the much newer iPad Air Model while there's an obvious price difference shoppers will be getting a lot more for their cash. It has a much bigger display - 10.9-inches compared to the older 10.2-inch size. Not to mention the resolution on the slightly newer 2022 model which is 2,360 x 1,640.

If shoppers wanted a slightly cheaper option, say they didn't need all the frills of the M1 processor, then the 2022 iPad with a Bionic processor (not the 2022 iPad Air) is also reduced. John Lewis is now selling this model for a cheaper £499. Samsung's Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is arguably the biggest rival to Apple's 2024 iPad, and its currently running a giveaway deal on its own site, something that may sway fans over this 2024 iPad Pro contract at Sky Mobile.

Gearing up for the WWDC event Apple hinted it will be 'Action Packed' saying: "Don’t miss the exciting reveal of the latest Apple software and technologies." Tech experts over at site Toms Guide have also given a clue as to what the event could reveal, and while it has not been 100% confirmed by Apple their history of reporting may give us the best first look.
