Alternatively, for a more versatile option, the YuYu Bottle (£38) features a clever strap system, allowing you to wear it hands-free around your waist to soothe aches and pains. It comes in nine cheerful colours, including bright pink and yellow. 

Back to The White Company, the faux-fur hot water bottle has received some great reviews, with a brilliant 4.9-star rating. One happy shopper said: "I mean, I love a hot water bottle, but this is a next-level hot water bottle.

"It is the softest thing you will ever have felt, and it's so long you can hug it like a... I don't know, a super soft, warm bear. It's awesome."  

Meanwhile, a second chimed in: "I thought it would be good for period pain, and I finally got it in the sale. It's even better than I imagined - it can wrap around your side, keeping your front and back warm at the same time, and, due to its size, it stays warm for hours on end."

However, this mixed review reads: "It's really pretty but doesn't come with any guidelines or instructions."
