Heated airer that dries clothes 'in less than half hour' is now on sale for 40% cheaper

Drying clothes inside in the winter can be a long and slow process if you don't have (or simply don't want to use) a tumble dryer. But finding the right airer can be a handy solution. A heated airer is a brilliant option, as it is designed to speed up the drying time of your clothes, and we've found one for under £60 at Lakeland.
The Dry: Soon Foldable Heated Airer has been discounted by 40%, reducing the price from £99.99 to £59.99.
This compact airer is ideal for smaller households and those with limited space, as it folds up for easy storage. The retailer says it can dry up to five items of clothing at a time, which can be hung on the rack inside using clothes hangers. Some shoppers claim it dries clothes in as little as “half an hour”, because it uses a different drying method than other heated airers.
Instead of having heated poles, this one has a fabric cover that goes over the whole thing, and a built-in fan that circulates hot air inside to dry the clothes.
It also has a fragrance dispenser to eliminate musty and damp smells. It can be filled with your favourite essential oils to infuse your clothes with different scents, which could be nice for items like pyjamas or jumpers.
Shoppers are praising the airer for its convenience in drying a few items at a time. One shopper said: “This is very good for a small daily hand-wash load. After giving the items a quick rinse and spin I use the Compact Dryer for teatowels, small towels in general, shirts and t-shirts, jeans, if using pegs on hangers, and socks. It’s more efficient at drying jeans than the larger clothes dryer.”
However, if you are considering this dryer, it's worth keeping in mind that this specific model isn’t large enough for a full load, but is ideal for smaller loads or drying individual items.

The airer could be especially helpful during the winter months, providing a little extra help with thicker items that take longer to dry. One shopper review said: “I don’t have room for a tumble dryer and dry most things on a clothes horse or radiator during the colder months, but some bigger or thicker things take ages to dry properly. So I was looking for something compact that would speed up the process. I spotted this and loved its small ‘footprint’ and how it packs away for storage. I’ve had it for two days, and I absolutely love it!”
The airer is 150cm tall, and after unclipping its support poles on each side, it can be folded into a 28cm tall case for storage. It's made from aluminium, meaning it's light enough to be portable, in case you want to take it with you on a weekend getaway or a business trip. One shopper said: "I bought this mainly to take on holiday as last year we got absolutely soaked on a walk, and we couldn’t get our coats dry to use the next day. It’s really easy to assemble and lightweight."
Another shopper, who bought the gadget to save space, wrote: One review said: "I don’t have a tumble dryer as I don’t have the room. This product dries a few items, when needed that day."
The same review also said the airer is easy to assemble and disassemble for storage, saying: "It compacts easily, folds away and goes neatly into the cupboard. Also no creases after drying and it’s quiet, so quiet in fact that I was able to watch and listen to my TV with the folded dryer by the side of me! I’ve also used it to dry damp towels, and looking forward to taking it with me when I go on caravan holidays, as it can easily fit into the car."
However, another shopper didn't find the airer very quiet, commenting that "as it relies on a fan, it does make noise which in an open plan area is slightly irritating." But they added: "Definitely quieter than a tumble dryer would be, of course!"
