Debenhams £17 makeup storage is a perfect Secret Santa gift and shoppers 'love it'

With Christmas just around the corner, we've spotted a handy gift that would be a welcome gift for any beauty enthusiast. Instead of adding to their collection of pots and potions, a handy cosmetics organiser can help keep them all tidy, and we've spotted one for under £20 at Debenhams.

At £17, the accessory is a great price for Secret Santas or gifting on a smaller budget. Debenhams says it was originally £59, though we've tracked the price using comparison website PriceRunner, and the highest the organiser has cost this year was £22 back in April. 

It's also the kind of present that could suit any age, with many shoppers saying they have bought it for their daughters and granddaughters. One said: "My granddaughter loves it. She can't wait to fill it with all her things."

Another said it was an "absolutely beautiful addition to daughter's room, looks great, and plenty of storage for her perfumes and make-up."

A third shopper said: "Purchased for a Christmas gift, I'm very pleased with the quality of the makeup storage box, and I know my daughter will be very happy with it."

The handy organiser has a cabinet and two drawers, making it ideal for storing bottles, brushes and pots. The top compartment is big enough to house taller bottles, while the drawers are spacious and can fit everything from skincare and makeup to accessories and hairbrushes.

The container comes in emerald green with gold detailing and is made from plastic and acrylic, which, according to Debenhams, is claimed to be scratch-resistant. The cover also fully closes, which can help keep everything inside dust-free. Plus, there is a handle for carrying. It also has little legs, allowing it to stand on any surface, from dressing tables to bathroom floors.

The organiser is 38cm tall, with a width of 25cm and a depth of 18.5cm, and could become a permanent fixture on a dressing table. However, its design also allows it to be stowed away in a cupboard or even a corner of the bathroom. Everything will be protected by the cover, so you don't need to worry about dust or moisture getting in.

Of course, you might just be in the market for a purse-friendly makeup organiser for yourself, as many shoppers say they have been. One person said: "Great for all my perfumes, which were cluttering up my bedroom shelf. They are now all neatly displayed in this great cosmetic carrier."

Another added: "Loved it so much, so bought a friend one. We both think it's perfect for dressing tables and storing all those little bits we collect. I keep my glasses together in there."

However, some shoppers have described the product as a "little flimsy".

This seemed to be something others noticed, with another reviewer writing: "It feels flimsy, the drawers don't pull out smoothly, etc." However, they added: "A makeup organiser probably doesn't need to be too sturdy!"

A second shopper said: "Love the design and colour. Would not have paid full price as it seems a little bit flimsy, but well worth the reduced price."

A third person added: "Lightweight and it looks better in real life. Bought on sale, which made it good value for money."
