William Morris’ intricate nature-inspired prints are a timeless way to inject colour and whimsy into a space. However, given the rich heritage behind the brand, Morris’s work has long been associated with high-end interiors, with cushions, wallpapers and furniture often coming with a premium price tag. This is especially true when purchased from luxury brands such as Morris & Co., the iconic brand founded by Morris himself, and House of Hackney, who have a range of wallpapers, fabrics and cushions designed in collaboration with the William Morris Gallery. In some cases, something as simple as a cushion can go for upwards of £100.

But I’ve found a more affordable and accessible way to incorporate classic Morris-inspired designs into your space without breaking the bank. As a shopping writer (and a self-professed interiors addict), I’m often scouring the latest new-in ranges from my homeware favourites Dunelm, Marks and Spencer and Habitat, and was happy to see some new items added from Habitat’s Morris & Co collaboration.

Habitat first collaborated with Morris & Co. last year and quickly sold out some items, including the Merton Sunflower Chair. Thankfully, the chair is back in stock—along with a host of other affordable items, including bedding, throw cushions, and lamps

The most affordable and versatile items in the range are the throw cushions, which are an easy way to incorporate some of the classic nature-inspired designs without having to shell out hundreds. In fact, some of the cheapest cushions are just £16, and even the most expensive cushion in the Habitat range is just £22.

It's quite a saving when you compare the price to similar Morris-inspired designs for sale at House of Hackney. The QUERCUS Medium Piped Velvet Jacquard Cushion from House of Hackney, while absolutely stunning, retails for £145. So, that’s already £123 more expensive than the most expensive in the Habitat offering.

Of course, Morris & Co. also offers a range of made-to-measure cushions, with the cheapest priced at £84 (£62 more expensive than Habitat's highest-priced cushion).

While Habitat can’t do made-to-measure, they do have a range of Morris-designed and colourways. There are also a variety of shapes and sizes, and one of my favourite cushions in the range even comes with fun frilled edging. I’ve selected a few of my top picks of cushions from the collection below.

Habitat x Morris & Co. Bluebell Cushion – £18

Bluebell cushion from Habitat

The Bluebell print has been reimagined in a new, pastel colourway (Image: Habitat)

Printed with one of Morris’ original designs but in a new colourway, the Bluebell cushion is a great way to incorporate classic textiles into your home. The 1876 Bluebell print has been reimagined with a palette of pastel blues and greens – perfect for brightening up a space and embracing the summer season.

It measures 50 x 50cm, making it just as good for the sofa or as a decorative element for your bed. The cushion cover is made from 100% cotton, which means it can be easily popped into the washing machine. There’s also no need to buy a separate interior cushion, as this comes with a polyester cushion inside.

Habitat x Morris & Co. Acanthus Bolster Cushion – £22

The Acanthus Bolster cushion is inspired by the work of Morris, in partnership with Morris & Co, infusing a modern take on the classic leaf and foliage print. In shades of blue and green, it injects natural colours and is perfect for a light and bright room.

Measuring 80 x 30cm, this long bolster pillow is perfect for adding a final touch to your bed, but equally could be used as a long sofa cushion. Like the other cushions in the range, the 100% cotton cover is machine washable, and it comes with an internal polyester pillow.

Habitat x Morris & Co. Blackthorn Velvet Cushion – £22

The Blackthorn Velvet Cushion isn’t one of the new additions to the Habitat range, however, it stood out to me straight away and is an ideal choice if you love the Morris print but want something a little different. Inspired by Morris’ Blackthorn Forest print, the cushion is great for darker rooms, with deep shades of moss green and black. A cotton velvet frill runs around the outer edge, the front of the cushion cover is cotton, and the back is polyester.

It can still be machine washed, and has a handy hidden zip to remove the interior filling. The pillow measures  43 x 43 cm, and as it's more of a statement, I’d recommend using this one for an armchair or on a bed.

The cushion is £22 from Habitat

Habitat x Morris & Co. Marigold Faux Mohair Throw
£24 View Deal

Made from fringed mohair, this throw is printed with the Morris Marigold design, originally designed in 1875.

However, the Habitat range has reimaged this design in monochrome hues.

Habitat x Morris & Co. Merton Sunflower Fabric Armchair
£500 View Deal

When it was first released, the Merton Sunflower chair was one of the top sellers from the Habitat x Morris & Co. range, and now it’s back in stock.

Printed with one of Morris's nature-inspired designs, the monochrome print is a versatile addition, and the chair has minimal assembly needed (just pop the legs on when it arrives, and you're ready to relax).

Though the chair is £500, you can save 30% with the code RED30 until the end of today (June 3).

Habitat x Morris & Co. Blackthorn Green Ceramic Lamp
£60 View Deal

This ceramic lamp uses a print inspired by Morris’ Blackthorn Forest. The shade’s moody colour palette is combined with an earthy green ceramic base.

Measuring 53 x 30 x 30cm, this statement lamp would work just as well on a bedside table as in the lounge on a sideboard.
