Vinegar might be a household favourite for eco-friendly cleaning, but sometimes you need a bit more oomph to tackle the grime.

As you whip up your culinary creations, it's easy to overlook the grease and dirt accumulating on your kitchen cupboards.

Despite having the extractor fan whirring or the window wide open, a layer of grime can quickly tarnish your cabinets, leaving an unpleasant sticky residue.

But fear not, Mrs Hinch enthusiasts have discovered a miracle product that only costs £1.25 and dissolves grease "immediately".

It's the perfect solution when those gentler options just don't cut it.

A plea for help was posted on the bustling Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, which boasts over 490,000 members.

One woman confessed: "My cupboards, I'm embarrassed to say, are really grubby with grease," adding: "[I] have tried spraying with white vinegar and then hot soapy water... Any other ideas please? ".

The response was overwhelming as hundreds of cleaning devotees rushed to offer their sage advice, with Elbow Grease emerging as the top suggestion.

This all-purpose degreaser from the beloved brand is readily available in most supermarkets or high street shops, reports the Mirror.

Asda is currently stocking a 500ml bottle at the bargain price of £1.25.

"I use elbow grease, [it] works right away," exclaimed an enthusiastic user.

Another chimed in with praise: "Try Elbow Grease spray. It's brilliant and smells lovely too. Cuts through grease immediately."

Echoing the sentiment, a third user declared: "I use Elbow Grease, it's brilliant on so many things," while another simply labelled the product "very good".

To employ this hack, spritz some Elbow Grease onto a clean cloth and attack the grimy spot. If you're up against stubborn dirt, blast the spray straight onto the surface, let it sit for a spell, then come in with a clean cloth for the wipe-down - repeat as needed.
