According to research by online photo lab WhiteWall, 22 per cent of us check our social media accounts more than 10 times a day and 55 per cent of us experience negative emotions while doing so.
In contrast 93 per cent of people have a strongly positive reaction to viewing printed photographs of people in their lives.

Don’t compare yourself constantly with online social media images
Psychology expert Corinne Sweet said: “By being more selective and surrounding ourselves with personal images in real life, it may well help us to feel more satisfied and happier in our day-to-day lives.
"Favourite old images can evoke an array of nostalgic emotions and create a positive mood boost.”

Corinne claims making a collage of images of significant people in your life it can also help as it gives you a “sense of connection” with that person.
She warned: “Don’t compare yourself constantly with online social media images.
