Nightmare neighbours and unsettled pets top list of main worries about moving home
THE main worry for Britons when they move home is about getting nightmare neighbours and whether their pets will settle in well, a new survey found.
1,900 home-movers confessed their main fear to be new neighbours
Research by the Royal Mail found that new neighbours were the main fear, followed by concerns that people would not like their new house.
One in four of the 1,900 home-movers questioned were worried about mail going to a previous address, while other concerns included noisy traffic and crime.
The poll found that 9 per cent worried their pets would not settle down, compared to 8 per cent who voiced concern about their children.
The research also found that 9 per cent worried their pets would not settle down
Jim Conning, of Royal Mail, said: "Moving home is a stressful time so adding a new area into the mix can be very daunting.
"There are so many tasks to think about that fears can multiply quickly.
"Your neighbours and the area in which you live play a vital role in making you feel comfortable and happy in your new surroundings, so it is important that they feel right."
