Love is in the air: Mile high proposal at 30,000 feet
ROMANTIC Stuart Mackinnon gave his girlfriend a real reason to smile on board a A380 flight when he popped the question
Proposals are always a memorable moment for any couple, but Stuart Mackinnon took it to new heights by popping the question at 30,000ft in the air.
The romantic Scot got down on one knee in front of girlfriend Victoria Loudon aboard their Emirates A380 flight to Brisbane from Dubai.
But this was no solo effort.
Stuart sought help from the flight purser and together with the cabin crew to make sure she couldn't say no.
Luckily for the groom-to-be, the College Concert Band happened to be onboard the flight headed to Australia too.
With some help from the Emirates crew, the onboard lounge was transformed to create a perfect setting for Stuart to pop the question.
While one talented crew member burst into song, serenading Victoria with Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World, Stuart asked Victoria to be his bride - and was rewarded with a resounding yes, much to his, the cabin crew and fellow passengers’ delight.
“It was always going to be a truly special moment in my life but what happened took it to a level that I could never have imagined," said Stuart, from Cumbernauld, Scotland.
“There could have been no better setting anywhere in the world.
“The nerves I had were put at ease with the fantastic crew members, the captain and all the passengers."
