If you shop at Aldi, you'll know the checkout workers are known for being particularly speedy.

The supermarket's checkout process is very swift, with the absence of barcode scanning delays helping customers to have a much speedier shopping experience in comparison to other supermarkets.

While this is good news, it can also be quite daunting for shoppers, as they can feel pressured to pack at a rapid pace to keep up with the speed. Luckily for us, a woman has now revealed an Aldi hack that will help rid your mounting checkout worry.

The savvy shopper, known as homewithchristina on TikTok, shared a video of how she does her shopping - and it's been dubbed as "genius". She simply pops a washing basket in her trolley to do her shopping in, as it comes in useful at the end.

After the items have been scanned at the checkout, she simply tosses them all back into the basket. It's pretty clever really as, not only do you not have to worry about forgetting shopping bags, but it also ensures you're super quick.

At the end of the clip, you see her simply wheeling the basket off, and putting it into her boot. Simple, easy and effective - the nifty trick has left many impressed.

One woman said it was her "best idea yet" as they couldn't believe how clever it was. Another admitted they do the same thing, though they keep the baskets in the car and fill them up at the end.

An impressed social media user wrote: "Never thought of doing this." Another added: "Thanks for the tip."

A third replied: "I have two. Every week is breezy." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Good idea."

Others also suggested investing in fold up baskets so you can keep them in the car at all times. It looks as though many will be trying out the genius trick.

When it comes to why the checkout workers are so fast at Aldi, it turns out there's a reason behind it all. The budget retailer aims to keep costs low, and it says employing super swift cashiers allows the company to do this.

An Aldi spokesperson previously told the Express that staff members are "encouraged to be as efficient as possible, as it helps the brand to keep prices low for customers".

They said: "Our employees are trained to operate the checkout at the appropriate pace for each individual they serve."

As well as this, no time is wasted at the checkouts due to the fact that cashiers don't have to look for tiny barcodes on products. This is because there are multiple ones on all packaging.

On certain food items like tins, the barcode even wraps all the way around the packaging, which makes the items much easier to scan. All in all, this allows things to go much more smoothly when you're paying for your goodies.
