'I'm dating a girl that's a terrible texter but am I overreacting?'

When it comes to modern dating sometimes you don't know what is the right thing to do.

There are so many dating terms out there including catfishing, breadcrumbing, love bombing and let's not forget ghosting.

While we have probably all come across some of them, one person has taken to Reddit to ask for advice about their current dating situation.

The post stated: "I have been seeing this girl for about a month now and I can't tell if she is into me because she is so horrible at texting it's insane. She could go a whole day or two without texting me back and then text me back eventually and not even mention that she just spent 48 hours to respond to me.

"When we do text, it's like 10 paragraphs but that's because we don't text often. She tells me she likes hanging out with me and can't wait til we hang out next, but I find it strange how you can go two days without even thinking of the person that you like hanging out with.

"She told me before she was a bad texter but this is like crazy. How do you expect to get into a healthy relationship when you are texting once every 2 days in your getting to know each other phase?"

People took to the thread to share their advice about the guy's dating dilemma, with one person writing: "Some people are genuinely bad texters. If she’s interested she’ll see you face to face.

"If long term you need someone to text you super regularly to feel like they care you might not be compatible.

"Keep in mind phones are a new creation. Being constantly connected to everyone else at the push of the button is overwhelming for some people. 20 years ago people who liked each other went days without hearing from each other."

Another said: "How about seeing her face to face? That's how you develop a healthy relationship."

A third added: "You’re not overreacting. If you like someone, you put time and energy into showing them that especially if you want a relationship. Regardless if she’s a bad texter, she should at least try to communicate once a day."

A user commented: "I'm seeing a lady. She can't text for s***. We're talking no response for days. But for months we've been meeting up every 2 weeks for mind-blowing sex and cute dates.

"After a while, you've got to say to yourself: since non-response in no way correlates to failure to meet, do I prefer good texting, or periodic sex and dates. I've chosen the latter, but you're free to do otherwise."

Finally, a fifth simply said: "Call her."
