Avon to open shops in the UK for the first time - first stores opening before Christmas
Avon will launch a handful of representative-run franchise stores in the UK.
Avon has been going strong for 137 years since its launch in 1886.
It sells directly to the public door-to-door and via catalogue, with 6.4 million representatives.
However, with a change in shopping and spending habits, the beauty giant is looking at new ways to appeal to customers.
Avon has launched in health and beauty retailer Superdrug and will now be setting up stand-alone stores.
An Avon spokesperson told Express.co.uk: "Following a successful launch in Superdrug stores, Avon has confirmed it intends to continue its UK-wide rollout.
"Discussions with the chain are ongoing, with Avon having first launched more than 150 products in 100 Superdrug stores in September.
"From Monday November 27, Avon will be rolling out into hundreds more stores with the Skin So Soft Original Dry Oil Spray and Enhance and Glow Spray, and a series of best-selling fragrances.
"Avon has also confirmed that it is launching a handful of Representative-run franchise stores in the UK following success of the model in Turkey, with the first stores expected to open within the next couple of months.

"Further information on these new franchises will be shared once the finer details have been confirmed."
Global chief executive Angela Cretu said that the company is looking for ways to follow women "wherever they spend their time", said.
But Avon fans shouldn't expect to find these stores on their local high street. The UK shops - expected to open over the next two months - will be based in "neighbourhood communities". Customers can expect "mini beauty boutiques".
