Piers was born in Surrey on March 30, 1965.

After starting his career as a freelancer, Piers landed a role as the editor of the News of the World in 1994.
This made him the youngest editor of the paper at only 29-years-old.
Just a year later, the writer left the publication to become the editor of The Mirror.
Piers continued to top up his fortune in the role and stayed at the publication for nine years.
