Stacey Dooley: Kevin Clifton 'reins in' Strictly Come Dancing 2018 co-star ahead of final
STACEY DOOLEY and Kevin Clifton performed two dances on the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 dance floor tonight. Their efforts may or may not have secured themselves a place in the final - but what did their body language during the routine reveal?
Strictly: Stacey and Kevin perform the Charleston in 2018
Stacey Dooley, 31, and her professional dance partner Kevin Clifton, 36, donned their dancing shoes once again this evening for the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing 2018.
Performing two routines, the dance duo tried their best to impress judges and viewers alike. But, was it enough? Only time will tell, as voters will get to have their say as they pick their favourite performance tonight.
Also watching the show tonight was body language expert Judi James, who spotted some interesting aspects of their routines as she studied tonight’s offering.
Following their dances, she told Express.co.uk that Kevin and Stacey’s dances were dissimilar in terms of body language tonight.
These two perform best when Kevin allows Stacey to fly solo
She said: “Kevin is clearly a Stacey fan, like the rest of the Strictly viewers and although he was happy to allow her to let rip in her first dance, a good old-fashioned comedy Charleston that suited Stacey's natural energy and enthusiasm perfectly he was busier reining her in for their second dance, the Viennese Waltz.
“Stacey was bent double with the effort of the Charleston but the high energy steps and the angular body movements suited her perfectly."
Judi went on to add: “Kevin revved up the crowd for this dance to register his high estimation of her but his reaction to Craig's criticism of their Waltz included some frowning and even a finger placed on his lips to signal disagreement.
“These two perform best when Kevin allows Stacey to fly solo. During more technical dances like the waltz you can see the effort Stacey is putting in but as they spun round and round you could see Kevin taking over control again.”
In tonight’s instalment, the five remaining couples took to the dance floor twice, as they made every effort to impress both viewers, and the judging panel.
And, with the chance to get their hands on the glitterball almost in sight, the stakes were certainly high.
She told Express.co.uk: “If points were awarded for emotional influence Stacey and Kevin would have scored straight tens from the judges tonight, half of whom seemed to be sobbing so hard it's amazing they could even reach for the right points paddle.
“Technically it might not have been Stacey's best number though. She looked tense and a little wary of the lifts and the routine was more about narrative and drama than about the American Smooth that they were dancing."
Following their performance, the dance duo spoke with Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly, 49, and Claudia Winkleman, 46.
Just like Tess, Claudia has appeared on array of shows on the small screen, and is often admired for her stylish outfit choices.
