Certain fish are rich in omega-3s, including mackerel, tuna, trout and salmon.
Citrus fruits, such as oranges and lemons, are rich in vitamin C, and help to prevent inflammatory arthritis, he said.
Garlic, onion and leeks are thought to contain compounds which may limit cartilage-damaging enzymes in human cells.

Arthritis pain: Regular exercise could keep joints mobile
There are over 100 forms of arthritis. Some are genetic, while some are age-related.
You could lower your risk of developing the condition by exercising regularly.
Exercise keeps joints mobile and strengthens muscles around the joint.
Losing weight, if you’re overweight or obese, may also help to relieve symptoms.
