Alan Titchmarsh's to do in the garden this week: Clean and tidy the greenhouse
Clean and tidy the greenhouse. Wash the glass inside and out so it's ready once the weather improves.
Enjoy snowdrops and winter aconites. Visit a stately garden with a snowdrop walk (but check opening dates first, since timing can vary from year to year).
Bring pots of alpines and dwarf bulbs into the conservatory or porch to encourage them into bloom early. Evergreens are good for out-of-season interest and no heating is needed.
Make an effort to use up any stored fruit and veg in the shed or garage, as it won't keep much longer. Also use up the last of the winter leeks, savoy cabbages and late Brussels sprouts in the garden. Look out for the first tender shoots of purple-sprouting broccoli.
