Big Green Egg barbecue alternative at Debenhams is £750 cheaper

The arrival of the Easter weekend marks the start of the Bank Holiday season, and that means plenty of opportunities for a barbecue with friends and family. We've discovered a highly-rated one for under £100.
The Kamado 13" Ceramic Mini BARBECUE is priced at £99.99 at Debenhams, and it's engineered to grill, roast and smoke.
This oval-shaped charcoal barbecue features a ceramic shell, which is purported to retain heat internally, seal in moisture for juicy meat, and be fuel-efficient. For those who prefer precision grilling, there's an integrated temperature gauge on the lid and an adjustable air vent allowing you to fine-tune the heat level.
Both the shape and material bear a striking resemblance to the MiniMax Big Green Egg, a high-end barbecue that costs £850. The sizes are comparable too, but the actual space on the grill rack of the Debenhams barbecue measures 26.5cm, while the Big Green Egg's is 33cm. Bearing this in mind, the Kamado is ideally suited to couples or small families.
Given its compact size, the barbecue can be easily relocated, and you can bring it along on camping trips or to a mate's house, as it's neither too heavy nor cumbersome.

So far, the barbecue has earned a 4.5-star rating at Debenhams, with one customer commending the cooking results: ''Great little barbecue, can't wait to use it more when the sun is out.''
Another added: "With only cooking for two, we only needed a small barbecue, and I'm so glad I chose this one! It looks great and cooks great. Takes a little bit of getting used to, but after doing a couple of steaks, I tried a whole chicken. I just put it in and forgot about it, and it cooked lovely. There are different settings for different types of cooking that are controlled by the vents."
A third shopper remarked on the size, which is worth bearing in mind if you're feeding more than two people: "Great gadget for the money. Very well made and slow cooks really well with just a little bit of charcoal. The 13-inch version is a bit small, but you can just about cook a whole chicken in it."
You can also purchase it from Amazon for the same price.
