A man was left stunned when he was told it would cost nearly £800 to get the tree in his front garden trimmed, but thankfully a gardener stepped in and gave him the surprise of his life.

The Manchester-based man, 50, suffers from learning disabilities and was quoted exactly £795 for the simple job.

It can be tricky for many people to keep on top of everything that needs doing in their gardens, and with prices of pretty much everything rising at the moment, getting a professional in can be extremely expensive.

However, this man doesn't need to worry anymore as the kind-hearted gardener behind the Garden Yardz Mowing account on TikTok paid him a visit.

The TikToker has amassed more than 21,000 followers, sharing videos in which he offers gardening services for free to people who can't afford the ridiculous quotes they're given.

And that's exactly what he did here. He wrote in his recent video: "50-year-old man with learning disabilities quoted £795 for this tree trimming [...] so I did it for free."

The footage showed Garden Yardz Mowing taking a hedge trimmer to the tree, ensuring it was even on the back and sides before using a ladder to tackle the top. At the end of the one minute clip, the tree looked completely transformed.

His video has already racked up more than 11,000 views, and people were quick to leave comments thanking the Good Samaritan for his continued heart-warming work.

One person said: "What a good man you are, too many older people being ’ripped off’ so people like you restores faith in humanity!"

Others were left staggered at the original quote, with another writing: "No more than a £30 job waste removed. Probably do any other shrubs or hedges they had too. People need to be very careful of these guys with hedgecutters calling themselves gardeners." A third added: "£30 max."
